Snow Pond

Last Updated: 3/2018
There is no official surveys done by the state.  The camp reports no stocking of any kind but record perch and pickerel have been reported.
There is very little information on the web about Snow Pond.  The little I found is below. Even the acreage of the pond seems to be unknown.  Any specific information about the pond would be received gratefully.  I have not yet paddled this pond but it seems that you may be able to paddle north up the Mud River for some distancewell past North Street.
Some claim to see a ghost of a man sitting on a large rock on the back side of Snow's Pond, an interesting fact about the rock is that a dead baby was found in a hat box by this rock in the early 1940's, the ''rumor'' at the time was that the daughter of then Chief of police was the mother and that since her fiancé had been away fighting in WWll for two years she had been obviously having a affair and to avoid scandal she dumped the baby's body.
Some think the old man seen is the former police chief who helped his daughter cover up this hideous crime, unable to forgive himself. Aspen Street itself however is haunted, all three known haunted houses are now abandoned . Some of Aspen Streets famous residents were Samuel Colt maker of Colt firearms, Shamus Culhane, director of Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and Ruth Baker Pratt, one of the first female U.
