Queen Lake Beach has been available since 1934 when Daniel "Web" Baker granted it to the inhabitants of the Town of Phillipston as a gift to be used for the purpose of a free public bathing beach. Located on Queen Lake Road (Route 101), 1 mile south of the Phillipston Center, the beach offers a public swimming area for the town. All persons are cautioned to swim within 100 feet from the shore. Persons swimming further than 100 feet from shore should be accompanied by a boat or visible watercraft. There are posted signs for parking along Route 101. A porta-potty is available on the premises, as well as trash dispensers and buoys that mark the separation of the boat ramp and beach. No dogs are allowed on the beach. For complete rules and regulations, please see the Town Bylaws
The Queen Lake Association oversees the large resort lake. The Town owns and maintains the public beach and boat ramp. A new committee made up of Queen Lake Association members and town residents has formed to address the potential invasive species in Queen Lake. Occasional needs and concerns are brought to town attention via meetings with the Selectmen.
