       No information published by the state.  Access for shore fishing is somewhat limited because of the number of private dwellings. 


       The launch area is practically on the dam.  There is limited parking but most boats can be launched from the gravel ramp.

Put-In/Take-Out Directions ( 4.6 miles, 11 minutes):
From Exit 9 Sturbridge of the Massachusetts Turnpike (Rt. 90)
  1. At the end of the ramp continue onto Interstate 84.
  2. At mile 0.8, take exit 3B to merge onto Route 20 West toward Route 131/Sturbridge/Palmer.
  3. Follow Route 20 West through Sturbridge.
  4. At mile 3.2, turn right onto Brookfield Road.
  5. At mile 3.4, turn right onto Clarke Road.
  6. At mile 4.6, pass under the Massachusetts Turnpike and then turn immediately left into the state launch area.

Courtesy Rules
  1. Littering is prohibited. $200 maximum size
  2. Watercraft must slow to headway speed when within 150 feet from shore, 300 feet from public berach.
  3. Non-motorized watercraft have right of way.
  4. Travel is counter-clockwise
  5. All watercraft must display lights between sunset and sunrise.
  6. 5 mph speed limit 1/2 hour after sunset.
  7. Waterskiers and all children under age 12 must wear a personal flotation device.
  8. Waterskier observer must be aboard tow boat. (minimum age 12)
  9. All watercraft including jet skis must abide by Massachusetts Boating Rules and Regulations.
  10. No swimming 50 feet or more from shore unless with a boat.
  11. We urger all fishermen to adopt "catch and release" policy.
  12. Prevent the spread of aquatic invasives to Massachusetts waters.  Clean your boat after each use
