Description
Harmon Pond is a spring fed pond full of wildlife. A stream exits the pond which feeds into the Umpachene River which itself is a tributary of the Housatonic River.
The YMCA camp says that it is 23 acres in size and reports that a 1829 book called  "A History of the County of Berkshire, Massachusetts" by David Dudleyfield, reports a size of 33 acres.  My guess is that back in 1829 they probably could not measure accurately.
This Great Pond is protected and owned by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts like all Great Ponds. Unfortunately, the pond is surrounded by the YMCA camp so access must be given by the camp.
It seems that they only run programs from the middle of July to the end of August.  We would imagine they might give access the rest of the year.
